Using Lightrooms filter system I can quickly reveal which lenses I used this winter the most. The new Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 L IS takes the win, hardly surprising as it is such an amazingly versatile lens. Second place goes to my 300mm f2.8 L IS. Did I really carry that beast around with me that much?!? I guess I did. But I’m a sucker for the sharpness and contrast that thing produces. Most surprising to me was how much I still use my fisheye lens! Can’t wait for the new Canon 8-15mm f4 L to come out. No doubt in my mind that will be a great addition to my bag and well worth the price tag as these stats show, I clearly have a thing for fishy looking images ! It will be interesting to do this on an annual basis and compare.
I don’t see the 70-200 f/4 IS on the list. Has the 70-300 taken its place in your bag out in the back country?
Yes I sold the 70-200 f4 IS
Hey Dan, wondering how you sorted (what looks like LR3) by lens length as done above… thanks
Yes LR3, go in tumbnail view then select ‘meta’ from the options above the thumbs. The there will be 4 columns , each has a drop down list to select which metadata item is shown in the column.
